Moving can be really awful because you have to spend all that time around dust and cobwebs and cardboard boxes and everyone is Mr. Grumpy-Pants because they are constantly teetering on hoarder-dom until I force them to throw said blanket/candle/childhood plaything out (definitely watch too much of TLC's show Hoarders). But sometimes moving can also be fun, especially when you discover that you have enough backpacks to supply a small African school or a mutinous army of toothbrushes or a couple of corsets that apparently don't belong to anyone in the family...

Wait what?

If you have never moved houses before you might try it out sometime. Try everything once, I always say. Perhaps on a date?

I believe in the power of dreams. I also believe my subconscious likes to screw with me. A 32 year old man, subconscious? …ok so you got me this time. I may be in love with Devin.

Not Just For Profit

After reading this blog and watching this movie and then reading this blog I've found that I'm decidedly indifferent when it comes to the TOMS movement, except for the fact that I still think they are ugly because MAN are they one ugly shoe.

However, I have found that I whole heartily support this 'not-just-for-profit' company. Sseko (pronounced say-ko), like TOMS, is a socially conscience shoe company. Apparently, in Uganda the school system is designed for a nine month break in between secondary schooling and university for students to raise tuition. In a male-dominated and impoverished society women have a hard time finding a job to fund their education. Sseko fills this niche. They provide 9-month jobs for women in between secondary school and university, though even women currently in and graduated from university can find amazing positions within Sseko. Whatever the women put toward their college education out of their salary is matched by Sseko at the end of the 9-month period.

I also think the sandals themselves are genius. It's just a leather base with trade-able ties but the ways you could tie your sandals are endless. Behold:

My Sabbath was excellent, as always. There is just no beating a whole day dedicated to God. Beyond the spiritual uplifting Sunday is extra good because I never have to wear pants. And as I always say, the best time is no pants time.

Casey Anthony is G U I L T Y. Is everyone else just as outraged as I am over the totally unfounded verdict?!


Also I am using this blog to officially endorse Michele Bauchman. Voting for Mitt Romney based on his religion only makes you a BAD CITIZEN. Some say he is a smart business man that knows how to adapt to fluctuating political climates and new information. Personally, I think he isn't to be trusted. I also have never liked that fact that he treats his religion as a potentially damaging theology with no pertinence to his political standpoints. Bauchman, however, is a staunch conservative with platforms and a religion that she has no trouble standing by. She is obviously pro-life, for the family unit, and all about small government, all points that Romney has been somewhat shady on. I also agree with her stance of phasing out medicare and social security.

Awkward and Awesome

Awkward

- Accidently taking two pieces of the sacrament. I ended up eating one then just staring at the other one in my hand. Double dose of sacrament never hurt anyone, right?

- Not having to go to work on Sunday because the lady I was supposed to see died. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

- Coworker after coworker telling me I look like I am twelve. Hokay, 16 I could understand, but twelve? Really? Prepubescent?

- 96 year-old woman: "Well you're not Mormon are you?!" Me: "Yes, I am." Woman: stares flabbergasted at me for a good five seconds then " Well, that's alright. Mormons have got to eat and breathe too, I guess." Uhhhh, I agree?

- 1016 unread messages in my gmail inbox. How does this happen to me?!

Awesome

-The aforementioned dead woman died. She really needed to. She was quite old and lonely and very sick.

- Finding a second job with flexible hours and better pay: $10 an hour. GUYS I WILL BE PAID A WHOLE TEN DOLLARS AN HOUR. Am I in demand or what?

- Dropped my cell phone in the toilet...BUT after three days sealed in a rice bag it lives again! Never thought I would relate the Resurrection to my cell phone.

- Alexa graduated from high school! That woman is going places, peeps. Namely college.

- Rediscovering my love of country music. Yes, I would love to take a ride on your big, red tractor.

- Finishing my first two necklaces and bracelet. Take a gander, friends. Soon I will be a jewelry buff.

They're nothing much yet but don't you worry. I've just spent an absurd amount of money on ebay for supplies!
